posted on Sat, 04 Aug at 06:52

The top ten sexiest beaus in US participating in the London olympics 2012 are rated below. Reasons and criteria for selecting them are also spelt out there, enjoy your reading.

# 1..... Ryan Lochte (Swimming)

Age: 27

Hometown: Daytona Beach, Fla.

Ladies love Lochte! The sexy swimmer recently graced the cover of Vogue (only the fourth man ever to do so) and got tongues wagging with his washboard abs, teeny Speedo and movie star smile. But despite his sudden rise to fame, Ryan Lochte, who has already picked up multiple medals in London, has managed to keep a cool head out of the pool. "When the starter goes off, I don't know, something switches and I become a racer," he said. "And when I get out, I'm laid-back Ryan."

# 2.....Kobe Bryant (Basketball)

Age: 33

Hometown: Philadelphia

Kobe Bryant may already have five NBA championship titles under his belt, but it’s playing for Team USA at the Olympic games that really makes him proud. "This is our way of being soldiers," he said. "This is what we do, is play basketball. It’s like our way of representing our country -- on a small scale." Sexy, athletic and patriotic? Now that’s the American Dream!

# 3..... Andy Roddick (Tennis)

Age: 29

Hometown: Boca Raton, Fla.

Tennis ace (and former World No. 1) Andy Roddick is known for both his hot temper and his hot body! But did you know that he's also the co-host of a hit radio show? After the success of a guest appearance with Fox Sports Radio's Bobby Bones, the network offered Roddick national syndication -- and he said yes! According to wife Brooklyn Decker, Andy will turn his focus to the show full-time after retiring. But not until he vies for a gold medal one last time!

#4.....Michael Phelps (Swimming)

Age: 27

Hometown: Baltimore, Md.

After the 2008 Summer Olympics in Bejing, Sports Illustrated called Michael Phelps "the greatest swimmer in history." Now in his fourth Olympic games, the most decorated Olympian of all time has got a lot to live up to this year! Phelps is confident in his abilities though, and recently told NBC that he’s not worried about his competition: "The only things I’m afraid of are snakes and heights!"

# 5.....Ashton Eaton (Track & Field)

Age: 24
Hometown: Bend, Ore.

After a highly lauded collegiate career at Oregon, decathlete Ashton Eaton is making his Olympic debut -- and he’s got comedian Bill Cosby cheering him on! Cosby, who went to Temple on a track and field scholarship in 1961, recently posted a video congratulating Eaton on "breaking all [his] records" in the sport. "I couldn’t pick a finer fella," Cosby said. We agree -- he is fine, indeed!

# 6.....Nathan Adrian (Swimming)

Age: 23

Hometown: Bremerton, Wash.

As the youngest on the U.S. men's swimming team, Nathan Adrian has us convinced that age ain’t nothin' but a number! He currently holds the American record in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events and has been touted by fellow athletes as "the one to watch." Gold medalist Gary Hall Jr. told NBC that Adrian, who has already medaled in London, is "the whole package. He’s got the strength, the feel, the technique and a good head on his shoulders." Sounds like he’s the perfect swimmer -- he looks pretty perfect, too!

# 7.....John Orozco (Gymnastics)

Age: 19

Hometown: Bronx, N.Y.

Nicknamed "Silent Ninja" for his quiet, consistently strong performance, gymnast John Orozco had a black belt in tae kwon do by the age of nine! Now at 19, he's vying for his first Olympic gold after finishing second at the trials, which he thinks was the hardest part. "I kind of feel like there's more pressure at the Olympic trials to make the team, and now it's ... a sigh of relief," he told CNN. "Now I can go and do my gymnastics and have fun!"

# 8..... Merrill Moses (Water Polo)

Age: 34

Hometown: Rancho Palos Verdes, Califonia

Merrill Moses is one of the best water polo goalkeepers in the world and has a speacial talent for bird calls. This pretty pool boy yells "Bacaw!" after he makes a good save. He’s told NBC that he uses the call as an intimidation factor. "They know that I just housed them," Moses said. "I just blocked them. They get all bummed out."

# 9.....David Oliver (Track & Field)

Age: 30

Hometown: Denver, Colo.

David Oliver ranks as the third-fastest hurdler in history, and we’d jump over 100 hurdles to get close to this hunky track and field star! After graduating college in 2004, Oliver was so strapped for cash that he sustained a diet of rice, cereal and pancakes before making history as an Olympic athlete. Committed and determined, his hard work paid off and he’s never looked back: "Either you run the races and get the job done, or you don’t," he’s said.

# 10.....Eric Shanteau (Swimming)

Age: 28

Hometown: Lilburn, Ga.

Eric Shanteau is a survivor. After being diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2008, he’s fighting back and getting fit. "I don’t know what cancer did to me," he said, "but I put on probably 10 pounds of muscle and got a lot stronger." We’re confident that this sexy swimmer’s got what it takes to beat cancer, break records and take home the gold!
