The Japanese government has provided a 7.6 million dollar grant to the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, NMIMR, in Accra for the procurement and Installation of a solar power generating system.


The Japanese government has provided a 7.6 million dollar grant to the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, NMIMR, in Accra for the procurement and Installation of a solar power generating system.

Part of the grant will be used for the training of staff to provide reliable and pollution-free electricity for use by the Institute.

Ahead of the procurement of the equipment, the proposed site for installation is being prepared.

Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony for the commencement of the project, the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, Naoto Nikia said the power system will contribute to Ghana's efforts to diversify its renewable energy sources.
